7:00 AM - 8:30 AM -  Clubs Appreciation Gathering- If you hold an office in a CMSA Club come join us and your CMSA NAB at the snack bar area for coffee and donuts. We like to take this time to say thank you for all your hard work and answer any questions you might have on the many new programs for 2008.

9:00 AM Sundowner Dealer Group Cavalry Class Stage One & Two (Top 10 run Saturday Showcase)

10:30 AM Wahl Clipper Corporation & Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association are excited to present a 'Shootout CMSA Style with Therapeutic Riding' to kick off the 2008 CMSA National Finals at Tunica Arena in Tunica, MS ' Wednesday, April 16, 2008 @ 10:30 am.  The competition will consist of 15 CMSA riders paired along side 15 Therapeutic Riding riders from Hearts Desire.  The CMSA riders will shoot the pattern of balloons with their pistols and then come back and aid their therapeutic partners to shoot the same course with a spear and pop the balloons.  The Therapeutic riders will also have the opportunity to ride the famous Mustang 'Nevada Joe'.  The top team will then perform their riding skills at the Saturday night's Showcase.  This event is a new partnership that CMSA has formed with NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicap Association) which is the national headquarters located in Denver, CO and has 800 affiliate organizations across the country. The CMSA will be conducting more fundraisers for the 2008 year.

Arena 1: Mandatory Shooter's Meeting All Competitors sit in grandstand. Followed by the Invocation & National Anthem

Arena 2 (Outside Arena): 2008 CMSA National Championship Stage Two: Wranglers, Class 1, 2, All Juniors, 3,  4, 5, 6.

Arena 1: Colt National Point Finals Eliminator: 2nd go includes 60 riders.

  • Top 10 Men, Top 10 Ladies Limited (Class 1 or 2)

Scholarship Fundraiser

7:00 PM Arena 1: Scholarship Fun Night  

CMSA Scholarship Friday Night Fun Event: The Scholarship Fund. Come join the fun of Goat Roping, Boot Race, fast draw, and even more. Don't miss out on this family fun and raise fund for the CMSA Scholarship Fund for our children.

  • Fun boot race: $5 entry fee and horse cleaner donated by John Dotson to the winning man and lady.

  • Musical balloon setting: Riders trotting or slow loping around the arena till the music stops, and then a dash to the closed pole to set your balloon. If your balloon breaks (or someone breaks your balloon) $5 for another balloon. Entry fee for this event $20, half going to scholarship half going to jackpot for winner.

  • Quick draw contest: $5.00 entry fee, half to jackpot, half to scholarship.

  • Goat roping: for small kids through adult. This event is run just like a team roping, with a goat being run out a chute to a small arena and kids heading and heeling while timed, but on foot instead of horseback. This will be a $3 entry fee per person per run, with paybacks after every 20 teams run. $1 from each entry will go to scholarship, $1 to jackpot, $1 to expense cost for goats.

Top 10 Wrangler Pro-Shootout$6,000.00 ADDED MONEY

Top 10 Double E Rifle:  $1,500.00 ADDED MONEY

2008 Colt National Point Finals Eliminator: Final Round. $4000.00 ADDED MONEY Top 10 Men & Top 10 Women followed by Awards in Arena.  Men's & Ladies Winner's each receive a new Colt Single Action Revolver.
